‘Leni, Bam, Risa, Raffy can give Sara a good fight in 2028 polls’

THERE are at least four politicians who can give Vice President Sara Duterte a good fight in the 2028 elections, according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

Remulla said leading the list of strong contenders against the Vice President is Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.

“I think Leni Robredo can wage a good fight,” Remulla said during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday, March 4, per a report by Philstar.

Remulla added that Senators Bam Aquino, Risa Hontiveros and Raffy Tulfo, are the other possible candidates who can give Duterte a run for her money.

Hontiveros has expressed interest in vying for the country’s top government post. Aquino and Tulfo claimed they are not running for a higher post.

Remulla admitted Duterte is a formidable candidate but not invincible.

The Vice President has already declared that she is running for president in 2028. She is facing impeachment complaints over her alleged misuse of confidential funds, among others.

While he identified some politicians who can go up against Duterte, Remulla refused to answer questions about his political plans.(MyTVCebu)
