Appointment of Cebu Provincial Health Officer confirmed

THE Cebu provincial board has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Shiela Faciol as the new chief of the Cebu Provincial Health Office (CPHO).

The body approved the resolution confirming Faciol's appointment a week after Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro administered her oath.

Faciol, who has over a decade experience in clinical care and health system leadership, received commendation from the members of the board who expressed optimism in her leadership at the CPHO.

Before being appointed as CPHO head, Faciol served as head of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) in Pinamungajan for 15 years, then became part of the Capitol PHO and eventually became the Assistant City Health Officer of Bogo City.

As CPHO head, Faciol's will oversee the overall operations of four provincial and 12 district hospitals managed by the Capitol. She will work alongside with Dr. Jeninas Canoy, Provincial Health Officer I for hospitals, who also took an oath last March.

Baricuatro expressed confidence in Faciol's ability in leading the provincial health office and helping her administration's goal to continue to improve the health care services in the province.(MyTVCebu)
