Cebu tallies 4th straight win, drubs Isabela
THE streaking Cebu Greats surged atop the South Division standings after they nipped the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys, 80-52, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) on Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, at the Batangas City Coliseum.
The Greats improved to 17-5 (win-loss), tallying four successive wins after losing two straight home games.
Never looking back after building a 24-9 lead after the first quarter, Cebu was led by Mark Meneses, who scored 14 points on a 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
Simon Camacho scored just six points but tallied a game-high 17 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and a steal. Wowie Escosio contributed 10 points, while Dondon Hontiveros and Elmer Echavez threw in nine apiece.
Jayboy Solis was the lone double-digit scorer for Ilagan with 10 points as the Cowboys slumped to theri eighth loss in 21 games.
