DUMANJUG sustained its rampaging start after posting a 53-44 win over Alcantara at the resumption of the Calderon Cup Inter-Town Under-21 Basketball Tournament on Friday night, April 10, at the Alcantara Civic Center.

The tournament had taken a break to pave way for the observance of Holy Week but Dumanjug showed no signs of rust as it improved to 3-0 (win-loss) to remain at No. 1 spot in Bracket B.

Alcantara, on the other hand, couldn’t stop the bleeding and fell to 0-3.

Dumanjug had a balanced attack with three players scoring in twin digits led by the 17-point output of Renz Nathan Villarojo.

Villarojo also had five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Raquel James Teleron pitched in 10 points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks while Jhun Miguel Telmo finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and an assist.

Alcantara was led by Yuro Fuentes, who chalked up 12 points, 15 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.

In another match Moalboal improved to 2-1 after escaping Ronda, 78-70.

Lance Igorote topped Moalboal 15 points, five rebounds, three blocks, and a steal. Klent Sabac, Leo Talledo, and Jeremar Lacanilao each had 12 points to provide Moalboal a balanced assault.

Leading the losing team was Joseph Rodriguez, who fired a game-high 21 points and also hauled down 10 rebounds.(CCM)
