Governor’s Cup opening moved
THE opening of the highly anticipated Governor's Cup Under-18 Basketball Tournament has been moved from Sept. 26 to Sept. 27.
Organizers announced on Wednesday, Sept. 9, that the opening of the grassroots tournament will still be at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.
However, organizers said the venue of the opening is “subject to final confirmation.”
“All participating LGUs are requested to take note of the new schedule and make the necessary adjustments in their respective preparations,” the advisory read.
Opening ceremonies will start at 1 p.m.
The Governor’s Cup is returning after a seven-year hiatus. The tournament was last staged in 2019 under the administration of then Cebu governor Hilario Davide III.
For its return, a total of 44 teams, representing the towns and cities of Cebu, have signed up in the province’s biggest basketball tournament.(CCM)
