Handy Fix, Natica earn piece of lead in Buildrite Cup
HANDY Fix Pro and Natica posted separate wins and created a three-way logjam at the No. 1 spot in Bracket B of the Architects and Engineers Basketball Club (AEBC) Buildrite Cup 2025 over the weekend at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) Gymnasium.
Handy Fix Pro took down erstwhile unbeaten Rubberstop, 63-55, while Natica prevailed over Smartbond, 64-57.
With the twin wins, Handy Fix and Natica joined Rubberstop atop the Bracket B standings with identical 3-1 (win-loss) slates.
Jett Latonio and Ivan Deo powered Handy Fix by firing 14 points each. Latonio had a solid all-around performance after also collecting eight rebounds, two assists, and a block.
John Rendon and Conrad Andrino added 10 markers each in the win.
James Lim fired a game-high 22 markers and Liehn Ibarita added 16 but Rubberstop saw its unbeaten start come to a sudden stop.
Dexsel Caadan, on the other hand, led Natica with 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. John Therese Buhawe tossed in 14 points while Alfredo Sanchez and Philip Alegado each had 10 markers.
Smartbond, which fell to 2-2, was led by Jae Estella’s 21-point output.
In another Bracket B match, Surfix finally barged into the win column by escaping Readycrete, 72-70.
Improving to 1-3, Surfix got 23 points from Rozien Rivera and 18 markers from Nikko Harold Punay. Dexter Estilloro helped Surfix’s cause by producing 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Arlu Esteban tallied 18 points while John Felix Ramirez and Michael Sasuman wound up with 14 points each but Readycrete stayed winless after four games.(CCM)
