JOHNRO Electrical and Avantrac sustained their sizzling hot starts by downing separate opponents in the Architects and Engineers Basketball Association (AEBA) 9th Corporate Cup over the weekend at the University of San Carlos (USC) Downtown Campus Gymnasium.

Both improving to 3-0 (win-loss) and staying as the only unbeaten teams in the tournament, Johnro Electrical nipped the Fenestram Fabricators, 76–61, while Avantrac took down Sinclair, 87-65.

Roy Rendon led the way for Johnro Electrical with 18 points while John Cubar put in 11 markers.

Christopher Gayotin fired a game-high 28 points but Avantrac stayed winless after two games.

Avantrac, on the other hand, was led by Jemcerson Sable, who collected 24 points, four assists, one steal, and one rebound. Noriko Benedicto, Rec Andro Zaragoza, and Anton Bennett Chua added 13, 12, and 11 points, respectively.

Justin Aspacio scored 17 points and Angelo Taduyan added 16 points for Sinclair, which suffered its first loss after a 2-0 start.

In other games, EGS Surveying chalked up its first win in three matches after edging RELLM Engineering, 71–61, Sports & Play also barged into the win column by drubbing Davies Paints, 99–71, while CBM Engineering notched its second win in three outings by thrashing Dextructures, 94–69.(CCM)
