Nevermind Basketball Club rolls out inaugural basketball tourney
THE Nevermind Basketball Club is rolling its inaugural basketball tournament on Nov. 8 at the Subangdaku Multi-Purpose Gym in Mandaue City.
Eight teams have confirmed participation in the tournament spearheaded by co-Commissioners Fritz Malinao and Rex Saberon and league creator Ton Carvajal.
The competing teams are Penrex, TBT, DC Abay-Abay, BUM Autoparts, DND, All Out Squad, HomeSourced, and USP GodHands.
The tournament will have the mixed senior and 40-under divisions with games scheduled every Sunday.
The league is also giving young ballers a chance to strut their wares by putting up the mini-midget and midget/juniors divisions.
“More than just a league, Nevermind Basketball Club aims to promote discipline, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community pride through the love of basketball,” the league said in a statement.
For the tournament format, teams will play in a single round-robin elimination stage with the top four teams advancing to the semifinal round.
In the semis, the No. 1 team will take on the No. 4 squad while the second-ranked will battle the third-seeded team with the victors moving to the championship round.(CCM)
