ALTHEA Shine Pores couldn’t bring home the bacon when she bowed to defending champion Romane Moulai on Sunday (Philippine time), Feb. 8, at the Villa M in Marseille, France.

Moulai took advantage of her height advantage to the hilt, scoring a unanimous decision win to retain her International Boxing Organization (IBO) Women’s light-light-flyweight title.

Scores were 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91–all for the hometown champion.

Ranged against a taller opponent, Pores simply couldn’t get into a solid rhythm as she faltered in her first fight in over a year. Pores, a native of Claveria, Misamis Oriental, last fought was in Dec. 21, 2024 yet when she scored a first-round knockout win over Thailand’s Pimchanok Thepjanda.

Pores was accompanied in France by PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions chief Atty. Floriezyl Podot and former world title challenger Edito “ALA” Villamor. She fell to 6W-0L-1D, 2KOs.

Moulai stayed perfect, pocketing her eighth straight win in a solid pro career start highlighted by three knockouts victories.(CCM)
