Repairs of quake-damaged bridges in Cebu start
REPAIR works on four quake-damaged bridges have started as part of the Cebu Provincial Government’s post-earthquake recovery efforts.
The projects cover Poblacion Borbon Bridge I (35 meters) worth P38.9 million; Poblacion Borbon Bridge II (11.9 meters) which amounts to P7.2 million; Tabunan Bridge I and II, Borbon (24 meters) which costs P27 million; and Calumboyan Bridge, Sogod (19 meters) worth P21.1 million.
The repairs are in addition to ongoing rehabilitation works on eight other damaged bridges across northern Cebu worth ₱159.7 million.
The eight bridges undergoing rehabilitation are Cabica Bridge, Borbon (25 meters) worth P27.7 million; Cadaruhan Bridge, Borbon (24 meters) worth P26.6 million; Tagnucan Bridge, Borbon (9 meters) amounting to P5.5 million; Poblacion–Suba Bridge, Daanbantayan (30 meters) cost P33.3 million; Guadalupe Bridge, Bogo City (18 meters) worth P20 million; Tabunok Bridge, Sogod (16 meters) worth P18 million; Piyo Bridge, abogon (15 meters) worth P16.8 million; and Lamintak Bridge, Medellin (7 meters) worth P11.4 million.
Provincial Engr. Hector Jamora said the Capitol is shouldering the repair and rehabilitation of 13 bridges affected by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake and typhoon Tino.
Funds for these projects were sourced out from the
local government support fund and trust fund of the disaster fund.(MyTVCebu)
