WITH a new import in tow, the San Miguel Beermen bounced from an ugly loss by whipping the listless Macau Black Knights, in the 50th PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday night, March 31, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Former NBA player Justin Patton marked his PBA debut on a rousing note, leading the Beermen with 24 points, 17 rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block.

Patton, who once suited up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Houston Rockets, replaced Marcus Lee, whose last game with the Beermen was a humiliating 92-118 loss to the TNT Tropang 5G.

CJ Perez and June Mar Fajardo were also productive in the win–the Beermen’s second in four outings.

Perez finished with 26 points, five assists, and three rebounds) while Fajardo ended up with 16 markers and 16 boards. Marcio Lassiter and Don Trollano also scored in double figures for the Beermen with 12 and 10, respectively.

Macau, on the other hand, remained winless in its guest participation, falling deeper in the team standings with a 0-5 (win-loss) slate.

Tony Mitchell finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Black Knights, who trailed by as many as 25 points in another lethargic performance.
