Towering imports spice up PBA Commissioner’s Cup
THE upcoming 50th PBA Commissioner’s is going to be a battle of the bigs.
Several teams, led by the TNT Tropang 5G, are bringing in giant reinforcements, adding excitement to the mid-season conference that will fire off on March 11.
As the conference sets no height limit for imports, the Tropa brought in ex-NBA player Bol Bol–a 7-foot-3 beanpole who can score from both inside and outside.
Not to be outdone, the Terrafirma Dyip have also signed Mubashar Ali, a 7-foot Finland-born player.
The Magnolia Hotshots have tapped the services of 6-foot-9 Terrell Brown-Soares while the Meralco Bolts went for 6-foot-9 Ismael Romero.
Meralco is very familiar with Romero as the Cuban-Puerto Rican big man was an integral member of the Bolts team who competed in the East Easi Super League.
The Blackwater Bossing are parading 6-foot-11 Daniel Ochefu while the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are fielding in 6-foot-9 Jaylen Johnson.
The NLEX Road Warriors have enlisted 6-foot-10 Cady Lalanne while James Dickey, a 6-foot-10 giant, is suiting up for the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
Deciding to stick with its resident import, the Barangay Ginebra Kings are likely to have the smallest import in 6-foot-6 Justin Brownlee.
The Converge FiberXers, Titan Ultra Giant Risers, San Miguel Beermen, and guest team Macau Black Bears have yet to announce their reinforcements.(CCM)
