World Travel Expo Year 10 Cebu edition set to open tomorrow at Ayala Center Cebu

THE Cebu leg of the World Travel Expo (WTE) Year 10 is set to open on Friday, August 14, at Ayala Center Cebu, bringing together tourism destinations, organizations, industry stakeholders, and travelers for a three-day event.

The Cebu edition will run from August 14 to 16, 2026, as part of WTE’s nationwide Year 10 series. This year’s theme, “Xtraordinary Journeys, Xceptional Memories,” focuses on the experiences and partnerships that shape Philippine tourism.

The event was formally introduced during a media launch at Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, where organizers outlined the objectives of the Cebu leg and its role in the continuing Year 10 celebration.

Miles Caballero, managing director of World Travel Expo, said the event highlights the people behind the tourism industry, including destinations, local communities, tourism enterprises, and travel professionals.

“At its heart, the World Travel Expo has always been about people,” Caballero said, emphasizing the role of communities and tourism workers in creating meaningful travel experiences.

She also noted that travel contributes to opportunities beyond tourism itself by encouraging conversations, partnerships, and connections between destinations, businesses, communities, and travelers.

Cebu was selected as the next host of the Year 10 series for its established tourism industry, cultural heritage, and reputation for Filipino hospitality.

Over the three-day event, WTE Cebu will provide a venue for tourism organizations and destinations to engage directly with travelers while also creating opportunities for industry networking and collaboration.

The Cebu edition forms part of the broader World Travel Expo Year 10 program, which aims to connect tourism stakeholders and promote destinations and travel experiences across the Philippines.
