TOP-RATED Chinese boxer Dianxing Zhu is dead serious in putting up a show when he takes on Cebuano boxer Ian Abne in the main attraction of Fist of Fury 10: The Eliminator on May 9 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Zhu will not just be gunning for a win as no less than a knockout victory is on top of the hard-hitting boxer’s mind.

But does he really have what it takes to knock Abne out?

“No question about it. I’m 100-percent confident,” said Zhu, who is ranked No. 3 in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) No. 3 minimumweight division.

His duel with Abne of the ARQ Boxing Stable is for the IBF world minimumweight title eliminator, which means the winner will earn a shot at current Filipino champion Pedro Taduran.

The 29-year-old Zhu even dared Abne to go all out as well.

“Together, let’s put on a spectacular fight for all the fans and give them a show like true warriors.”

Zhu’s manager, Robin Wong, likewise expressed confidence that his ward will emerge victorious.

“Zhu Dianxing is a true world champion in waiting. He’s quick to learn, modest, and mentally tough — almost like a literary scholar. Extremely diligent and calm, he devotes himself to refining his training techniques and understanding the human body,” Wong said.

Zhu is on an amazing 11-fight winning streak. He has 16 wins–16 by KO and with only one defeat.

“We will definitely go all out to win, and we have great respect for our opponent. As someone who has lived, competed, and trained alongside Zhu for a long time, this is no longer a question of belief. We are a team, and we are bound by the mission to crown the next Chinese world champion,” Wong said.

Abne is yet to lose, racking up 12 wins, four by KO, and has two draws.

Abne’s undefeated run is bound to end, Wong warned.

“I believe, barring any surprises, Zhu Dianxing will finish his opponent by knockout, no matter what fighting style the opponent uses,” he said.(CCM)
