Sawang Calero Police Station snags “Best Police Station” award

THE Station 6 in Barangay Sawang Calero has been chosen as the “best police station” in Cebu City.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) handed the award during the celebration of the PNP Day 2026 on Monday, April 6.

Top-performing police officers were also recognized during the celebration.

Lt. Col. Ferdinand Casiano, chief of the City Mobile Force Company, was awarded as Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration while Lt. Col. Jerrold Jake Manguerra, head of the City Intelligence Unit, was adjudged as the Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operation.

Master Sgt. Albert Sedon received the Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Administration while taking the Best PNCO for Operation accolade was Master Sgt. Mark Jason Plando.

The Best Junior PNCO for Administration awardee was Staff Sgt. Sheila Mae Sumugat while Cpl. Joselito Saavedra was took the Best PNCO for Operation award.

Jessie Ogao-Ogao was named as Best Non-Uniformed Personnel Non-Supervisory Level.

The awarding ceremony was graced by Atty. Maximo Lasaca I, the Regional Director of National Police Commission-Central Visayas.

Lasaca praised the CCPO personnel for displaying professionalism in the conduct of their duties.

Lasaca noted the high morale of the police force following the increase in allowance, bonus and base pay.

Lasaca disclosed that the Congress has approved a P308.4-billion for the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Of the total budget, the third highest among government agencies, P8.4 billion will go to the Philippine National Police for its capability enhancement and other expenses.(CDB)
