Top Filipino prospects clash in Parañaque boxfest

EXPECT fireworks when two of the country’s brightest prospects collide on May 24 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.

Richard Laspoña of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable and Cebuano Arvin Jhon Paciones tangle in a duel of undefeated flyweight prospects.

At stake in the fight is Paciones’ WBO Oriental flyweight belt.

Records of the two fighters are almost identical.

Laspoña will come into the fight unbeaten in 11 fights. Seven of his victories came via knockout.

Laspoña has only fought once so far this year with the 23-year-old boxer scoring a sensational second-round knockout win over John Ret Labajo in Carmen, Bohol last March.

The 21-year-old Paciones, on the other hand, parades a stellar 12W-0L card and just like Laspoña, he also packs power as seven of his wins came via stoppage.

Paciones will also be seeing action for the first time this year. His last outing was equally impressive as he pulled a second-round knockout win over Jeraldine Oclarit last October in Manila.

“Two undefeated fighters. One huge showdown,” the PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions said in a fight announcement.(CCM)
